Htee Moo Draw Childcare Foundation, Mae La Refugee Camp is located in Amphor Thasonyang, Tak Province, Thailand. Amphor Thasonyang is situated in North of Mae Sot roughly 60 Km or one hour by bus, which is sit on the Thailand-Burma border. Mae Sot is about 6-8 hours North of Bangkok by bus, and about 5 hours South West of Chiang Mai - also by bus.
Thasongyang is a picturesque Karen Village in Northern Thailand. It sits next to the Moei river which separates Thailand from Burma. It is surrounded by jungle and beautiful limestone mountains, which cut it off from the bustle of the outside world. It was at one time a target of Burmese mortars; the pot-marked roads still show evidence. Now however, it is the most peaceful place you would ever want to go.

Yes! children, their families, and community love to meet visiting sponsors. You'll get to see your sponsorship working first land. Notify us for a month ahead and we'll help arrange it.
